A Cold Day at Healey |
Another picture from the estate of Mr. Albert Robinson, Westfield Street, Ossett courtesy of his son Chris Robinson, this picture shows a wintery scene taken at Healey on the footpath towards the "Figure of Three" locks, beyond the railway bridge. The area is still recognisable today, but with a lot more foliage on the approach to the footpath tunnel going underneath the railway crossing. This part of the river Calder was navigable by barges at one time and the old Healey Ferry was just beyond the railway bridge. The picture was probably taken in the early 1960s. |
