As you can see, the list is in Latin - never my strongest subject at school. However, uxor means "wife", filius means "son", filia means "daughter" and ancilla means "live in housemaid".
Some of the occupations are interesting; a souter is a shoemaker and a walker is someone who "walks" on completed cloth to get the moisture out of it.
Can you see any of your ancestors in here? I think Ricardus Willesoñ could be one of my Wilson lot and a few of the surnames such as Ffernley (Fearnley), Wodhowse (Woodhouse), Joneson (Johnson) sound familiar.
