Old Town End, Ossett

This picture from a series called "Bygone Ossett" the "Ossett Observer" from the 1960s shows part of Town End in Ossett before demolition. The actual location is unknown. The account in the local newspaper read as follows:
"A picturesque corner of old Town End, Ossett. The house adjojns the warehouse occupied by Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Lockwood and the yard contains an old gravestone inscribed "IN MEMORY OF MARY, WIFE OF ROBERT HARROP OF OSSETT", the date being indecipherable. The warehouse was at the time used for storing hay and straw."
