Healey Marshalling Yard with steam locomotive 45268

This picture was kindly supplied by Steve Armitage of Gildersome, Morley and is part of his personal photographic collection. Taken by him from Storrs Hill bridge on the 25th March 1968, it shows an ex-L.M.S. Railway "Black 5", 4-6-0 type steam locomotive, 45268 looking toward Horbury. The locomotive was built in October 1936 and was taken out of service just a few months after this photograph was taken in October 1968.

The houses in the background on the hillside are thought to be in Horbury, looking towards Jenkin Lane and Matty Marsden Lane.
